From exploring sports-related neuroscience to a Brain Camp for Seniors – National Science Week 2026 has something to spark curiosity in every Australian. 

Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science Tim Ayres launched the annual event at Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre, in Canberra this week.

Kicking off on Saturday, National Science Week events will be held across every state and territory, celebrating Australian scientific achievements and promoting community participation in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

National Science Week is funded by the Australian Government through the Inspiring Australia – Science Engagement Program. By supporting STEM engagement in communities across the country, the program helps build the skilled and diverse workforce Australia needs to deliver a Future Made in Australia.

National Science Week showcases how science shapes our everyday lives and gives young people the chance to meet scientists, explore new ideas and discover future STEM careers.
